Divided is now available as an audiobook! I’m so excited to share this with you. Tanis Parenteau, the narrator, did such a fantastic job with it. I love it so much, and can’t wait to get started on Ravaged. (No date yet, it’s not yet in my schedule…but it will happen.) Below are the links where you can purchase it. Please share with your family and friends, and enjoy!
Hey everyone! Burning Darkness was reviewed in the Farmington Daily Journal this past weekend! Check it out! Thanks so much to Renee Bronaugh, whom I met at St. Louis Comic Con, for the great review!
I’m busy working on my next book, Deceived. This will be the third book in the Elena Ronen PI series. Release date will be December. 11.
The audio book for Divided is nearly complete. I can’t wait till I can share it with you all – it’s amazing! The narrator, Tanis Parenteau, is so wonderful! I really hope she’ll do Ravaged when I’m ready to do audio for that as well.
That’s all for now – my next scheduled appearance is at the ToyMan Toy Show on September 28, and the following weekend I’ll be at Archon. Check out my Events Page for all the details.
Finally, if you’re looking for some help writing your own book, check out my coaching services – I can help you through every step of the process, from idea creation to self-publication. If you know someone who could benefit from this, I’d appreciate if you tell them as well. I’ll end you a free eBook of your choice for each referral who books a session with me.
That’s it for now! Until next time, happy reading!
WOW! That sums up my signing. Thirty-three people showed up! Thank you so much to everyone who was there. I can’t express how much your support means to me. We packed Subterranean Books! Tori, the wonderful girl working, told me this was the largest turnout they’ve had for a signing, so again, WOW!
I was a bit nervous about reading my work to people…especially people I know. I wasn’t worried about the intro or Q&A, but reading my own stuff…that’s nerve wracking. It went well though. Tori introduced me, then I talked for a few minutes about myself and my writing, then read the first two chapters of Divided. After that was a Q&A and there were some really wonderful questions, some that gave me ideas for some possible bonuses to post here on my blog. I’ll have to see what I can come up with.
After the signing about half of us went to Blueberry Hill for appetizers and drinks. I have the best parents in the world, as that was their idea and they paid for it. Thanks so much Mom and Dad. It made the night even better, and it was so fun to hang out with people afterwards.
John recorded the whole thing, and it turned out pretty well, especially considering I’d just bought the camcorder that day and we’d never used it before other than a few minutes messing around to figure out the controls. So here it is. Something happened in the middle of the Q&A and the recording stopped, then starts up again a few second later in the second file. So watch the longer one first.
I really enjoyed myself and can’t wait for my next signing. I hope Subterranean Books will have me back for it…though if too many more people show up I’m not sure where they’d all go! What a great problem to have!
The videos were too big to upload here, so here are the links to the videos on YouTube. Enjoy!
I received the final proof yesterday, and everything looks great! You can order a copy here, but if you’re going to attend my book signing on April 4 (Subterranean Books, 7-8PM), please wait to purchase a copy there. I will have plenty available, and want to sell a lot onsite. Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy it!
At least, I hope it it. Let me say, for the next book, I’m paying a professional to format the paperback. I have no patience with word processors, and this has definitely been the most technically difficult part of the entire process. I think I finally have it right though. After countless hours fighting with headers and footers and margins, I ordered the 3rd proof copy today. I tediously flipped through every single page with CreateSpace’s online reviewer. The proof will be here Monday, so I’ll flip through every page, probably ask my dad to do the same (he has a very good eye and is very meticulous), and once I’m satisfied, I’ll order copies to sell at the signing on April 4, and for people who can’t make the signing but want an autographed copy.
Speaking of, if you do want an autographed copy of Divided, but don’t live in St. Louis/can’t make the signing for whatever reason, drop me a note with your email address and home address via my contact page. I’ll get in touch with you and tell you how much shipping will be, and you can pay me via PayPal, so you won’t have to pay multiple back and forth shipping costs. If you can let me know soon, please do so, so I can be sure to order enough copies next week. But if not, that’s ok, I’ll order more if the need arises.
I’ll be so glad once I order the final copies to sell. Then I’ll really feel like this book is 100% complete and I’ll be able to completely focus on Ravaged, the sequel.
Wow. I am absolutely blown away. I would have been ecstatic with 100 downloads of Divided. I really had no idea what to expect. I certainly did not expect to hit Amazon’s Top 100 Free lists for both contemporary fantasy AND paranormal romance. I definitely did not expect to have close to 1000 downloads the first day, or over 2600 total.
And I never would have dreamed of breaking into the top 10 on Amazon’s free contemporary fantasy on the second day of the promotion. Number 7 to be exact. Or the top 20 on the paranormal romance list. Or the hundreds (305) in the overall free list.
That prompted me to add a third day to the free promotion. Maybe I’d hit #1 on one of the genre lists. Maybe, just maybe, I’d break into the top 100 of the overall free list. Wow, that would be amazing!
Well, neither of those things happened. But that’s ok, Divided still rose higher in all the lists. It peaked at 241 on the overall free list, 16 on paranormal romance, and 2 on contemporary fantasy. I was thrilled with all those numbers, especially #2!
So today it’s back to $2.99. I’ve had a handful of downloads. I expected it to drastically drop off, so this is ok. And it’s currently 24,004 on the paid list. Which doesn’t sound that great, but when you consider that – if my math isn’t complete off – there are 1.9 million paid Kindle books, that’s really not too shabby for the first day of paid sales.
So if you’ve downloaded (free or paid) a copy of Divided, THANK YOU! I can not thank you enough for making this launch absolutely amazing beyond my wildest dreams. Also, when you finish reading Divided, would you be so kind as to leave a review on Amazon? Those are so important. Thank you so very much. I can not say that enough.
Laura over at Little Read Riding Hood has an interview with me today. Head on over and learn a little something you might not have known.
Also, Divided is FREE today and tomorrow (March 12-13.) You don’t have to have a Kindle to read it. You can read it on your computer, tablet, or smartphone with the Kindle app. But if you’re waiting for the paperback and don’t like reading on a screen, would you mind downloading it anyway? It will help me out immensely. Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve ordered the proof copy for the paperback version of Divided from Create Space and expect it to arrive on Tuesday. It’s going to be like Christmas! I also finished formatting the file for Kindle and have that all ready to go, just need to click the button to make it available. It’s going to be hard to wait a whole week to make this available, but I know I need to make certain I have everything in order, ready to go.
Laura from Little Read Riding Hood is going post an interview with me on launch day (March 12). I’ll link to it here when it’s live. She sent me some really great questions, so you won’t want to miss this!
Finally, I’ve added the cover for Divided over on my Books page. Go check it out if you missed the official reveal earlier this week!
