One week remains in the Savvy Authors June Bootcamp. The past week has been fairly unproductive for me. A lot has been going on in my life outside of writing. I hate when that happens. Just kidding. Sort of. I haven’t had time to work on my novel since Saturday, and won’t until Monday, when only 3 days will remain in bootcamp.
These non-writing events were all good though, and as much as we may hate it at times, we do need to get out into the “real world” from time to time, get experiences we can’t have sitting in front of a computer or notebook.
My bootcamp team has made it higher in the ranks. We’re somewhere around 5th place now. Unfortunately the 3 top teams have close to 100 points more than us, so it doesn’t look likely we’ll catch up for the win, especially since one member is MIA. But I’m ok with that. A free workshop would be nice, but it’s not like not winning is going to stop me from taking any workshops. I’ve learned so much from the ones I’ve taken, I may be a bit addicted to them now. 🙂
This weekend I’m going on a float trip with some old coworkers. It should be a blast, though again, not conducive to writing or editing. Or maybe I’ll just go off to a corner of the campsite with my notebook. I’m taking today off work and plan to get there relatively early to enjoy the peace and quiet before the festivities begin, so it’s possible I’ll get some plotting done for my JulNoWriMo novel. it will be interesting since it’s supposed to be 91 tomorrow and 96 on Saturday, and I don’t deal well with heat. At least my car will be nearby so if it gets too out of hand I can turn the AC on.
