Life can be challenging sometimes. I was on track with the rough draft of Saving Wonderland. Then I got the flu. Then I caught back up. Then I had some other “stuff” I was dealing with and got behind. I’m almost caught up again though. I’m pretty proud of how well I’ve been handling all these obstacles, taking them in stride and adjusting on the fly without beating myself up for falling behind. It’s amazing how much more productive you are when being kind to yourself!
I have about 25 pages left to edit, which I’ll finish today. Then I’ll transfer the edits from paper into Scrivener (my word processor) and finally read the whole thing aloud to myself to check for awkward phrasing.
On Monday I’ll send the manuscript to my amazing story consultant, Chase Night, whom I’ve worked with on every book except Divided. I can’t wait to read his feedback on this one!
That’s my quick update for this week! Time to get back to editing!
