NaNoWriMo officially ended 1 week ago today. Of course, it ended for me a few days sooner since I had 50,000 words and the end of my story. So what have I been doing since then? Catching up on everything that fell by the wayside, of course! I got my blog set up as a self-hosted Word Press blog, rather than a freebie. So if you noticed things changing it’s me still playing around with all the options, adding plug-ins, all that good stuff. Not that I have much time to mess with my blog right now.
I started an exciting new venture completely unrelated to writing. I’m not a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. (translation: I sell Mary Kay stuff. But I don’t work for them. It’s my own independent business. Exciting and scary!) So that past week or so has been spent learning all about the company and products and how to book appointments and make sales and…..Yes, it’s been quite hectic. I’m very excited about this! If you or anyone you know is interested, I’d be happy to help you out. And you don’t have to live in my area. I have a Mary Kay website to help with that too. (Don’t worry, that’s the first and last time I’ll pitch that here. I’m just super excited!)
I also started Dean Wesley Smith’s Pitches and Blurbs workshop this week. Another exciting and scary venture. Excited to learn about that because I’m awful at writing ad copy, and scary because, well, I’m awful at writing ad copy. It will be a lot of work (he estimates 4-5 hours a week) but it will be well worth it.
Finally I’m hoping to find some time to work on preparing Divided for publication. There’s so much to do and learn, and not enough hours in the day.
