I’ve worked in fits and starts the past year and a half on my writing…mostly fits. But thanks to the Asymmetrical Community I have a renewed sense of determination and inspiration. Nearly 4 years later I’m finally going to get Divided out the door. Well, by the time it is out the door it will be more than 4 years later. I sent it to a beta reader and am now incorporating the feedback into a final (yes, for real final this time) round of edits. In February I’m taking Dean Wesley Smith’s Pitches and Blurbs Workshop. I’ve never had to market anything in my life, and back when I was attempting the old fashioned agent route it was painfully obvious that writing blurbs and synopses was by far my weakest writing skill.
In the meantime, once I finish the final round of edits, I’ll work on putting together a plan of how I’m going to market my book, and research artists to get a cover drawn up. No way I’m going to attempt to do that myself. “Don’t judge a book by its cover” just isn’t true. People do. So I know when my book shows up on Amazon next to other authors, the cover will be the first thing people see, and it has to be amazing.
So I’m back. I’ll post here once a week. Maybe more sometimes, but always once a week. I’ll talk about my writing progress and just general musings I have going through my mind.
